Vi gør enstor sundhedsfremmende og forebyggende indsats for borgerne vedfor eksempel at tilbyde forældrebetalte madordninger til børn mellem3 og 5 år og øge kapaciteten på vores daginstitutioner via nye byggeprojekter.Vi er i gang med at skabe flere midlertidige og pleje- ogaflastningsboliger til mennesker, der har behov for hurtig genoptræningsamt varige pladser til dem, der ikke længere kan klare sig i eget hjem.I samarbejde med nabokommunerne har vi etableret et fælles hjælpemiddelcentersamt en specialtandlæge.Til personer med et særligt behov har vi for eksempel institutionerneKABS for stofmisbrugere, Parkvænget med socialpsykiatriske tilbud,Kirsebærhuset for autistbørn, Bakkehuset for voksne autister ogEjbyhus, som er kommunens skole- og dagbehandlingstilbud til børnmellem 6 og 13 år samt Klub Varmeværket, en klub for unge fra 12 år.Klubben har et socialpædagogisk virke og udfører meget af sit arbejdepå gadeplan.Vi har fokus på dem, der virkelig har problemer og et stort behov forekstra hjælp. Til andre yder vi hjælp til selvhjælp for eksempel via voresjobcenter, som har dag til dag tilbud om beskæftigelse til borgere, derønsker kontanthjælp. I vores øjne er et sundt liv et aktivt liv, så vidt deter muligt.Institutionen KABS / The institution KABSSocial& health servicesThe municipality of Glostrup makes both physical and psychologicalhealth an integral part of all areas from the tender beginning of thechild until age leaves its mark. We make great effort for the citizens inthe areas of health promotion and prevention, for example by offeringparent-paid meal systems for children ages 3 to 5 and by increasingthe capacity of our day-care centres through new building projects. Weare in the process of creating more temporary homes and residentialand relief care facilities for people who need rapid rehabilitation, aswell as permanent places for those people who are no longer able totake care of themselves in their own homes. In cooperation with theneighbouring municipalities, we have established a joint aid remedycentre as well as a specialist dentist service.For people with special needs, we have the following institutions:KABS for drug abusers, Parkvænget with social psychiatric offers,Kirsebærhuset for autistic children, Bakkehuset for adults with autismand Ejbyhus, which is the municipality’s school and day therapeutic optionfor children ages 6 to 13, as well as Klub Varmeværket, a club foryouth ages 12 and up. The club is socio-educational and does much ofits work on the street.We focus on the people who have real problems and a great needfor extra help. For others we offer assistance supplementary to theirown efforts for example through our job centre, which has day-to-dayemployment offers for people who wish to receive cash benefits.
